A Galliano man was found in Bayou LaFourche yesterday bound in rope. LaFourche Parish Sheriff’s office spokesperson, Lt. Brennan Matherne, says a local firefighter responded to the call, and jumped into the bayou in an attempt to save69-year-old Terry Angelle, only to discover the body was visibly decomposing.,,,

School supply, hurricane preparedness, and the “Second Amendment” tax holiday have been put on hold for the next seven years. A Natchitoches woman has been charged in the burning death of a six-month old child, who was set on fire last week. 25-year-old Felicia Marie-Nicole Smith has been charged with one count of first-degree murder for the death of Levi Cole Ellerbe. A 69-year-old Galliano man was discovered in Bayou LaFourche Sunday afternoon. Someone noticed a body floating in the canal around 2PM yesterday and informed authorities, and his body was later retrieved by a local firefighter. Authorities identified the man as Terry Angelle, whose bicycle was discovered 200 yards from where his body was floating. Upon inspection, it was discovered his arms and legs were bound with rope.

A congressional candidate was arrested shortly after he qualified to run agaisnt US Representative Ralph Abraham in Louisiana’s 5th district. Billy Burkette of Pride was taken away in handcuffs as there was a warrant out for his arrest for impersonating a law enforcement officer. Burkette told reporters at the Secretary of State’s office in Baton Rouge that he’s the chief of police and chairman of the Louisiana Band of Choctaw Indians.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is mourning the death of one of its cadets. LDWF spokesperson Adam Einck says 38-year-old Immanuel Washington of Youngsville collapsed following a 2.5 mile run as part of physical training.
