Food delivery service Waitr has released a top 10 list of what people order for Super Bowl Sunday. The list is unsurprisingly topped by wings, fries, and burgers. But Waitr spokesperson Whitney Savioe says at number nine, an iconic Louisiana food makes the list.

Reports estimate nearly 1.3 billion chicken wings will be consumed on Sunday.

Accused murderer Dakota Theriot returns to Louisiana today after waiving his extradition at a court hearing in Virginia. Theriot is accused of murdering a family he lived within the Walker area, before heading to Gonzales to execute his parents.  An Advocate report earlier this week mentioned Theriot had previous mental instability and suffered from hallucinations.  Legal Analyst Tim Meche says if that’s true, it could make it less likely that the 21-year-old would be sentenced to death.

A Shreveport woman who is accused of failing to send her two children to school for almost two years has plead guilty to improper supervision.  35 year old Fathimah Slack, admitted she failed to send her children, ages 13 & 14, to school for the entire 2017-18 school year as well as the current school year until November.  She’s been sentenced to 30 days behind bars.

Until the conclusion of the NFC Championship, many throughout Louisiana had plans of watching the Black and Gold this Sunday compete in the Big Game.  However, some sports bars and restaurants are going to make sure those plans stay intact.  In Lafayette, Fast Eddie, host of the Big Morning Show on Big 102.1 says his station has taken over Smitty’s Wings on Congress Street to watch the encounter between the Saints and the Colts from 2010.  Eddie says they are going to treat it like it’s a live game.

In North Louisiana, people will be backing the Rams as former West Monroe football standout Andrew Whitworth is competing in the big game.  Senator Mike Walsworth says he’s known Whitworth a very long time, and the general vibe of his old stomping grounds is that community is rooting for him this weekend.

Dakota Theriot, the man accused of killing five people last weekend in Livingston and Ascension Parish, is back in Louisiana after waiving extradition on Friday.  Theriot had fled to Virginia where he was arrested Sunday at his grandmother’s home.  Authorities have obtained a confession and he could face the death penalty on five murder charges.  Theriot reportedly showed little emotion in his first court appearance.

A new exhibit produced by the New Orleans WW2 Museum is opening in Natchitoches today. Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser hopes the success of the WW2 Museum’s northern expedition to the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in Natchitoches will convince locals to take the trip south to see the rest of the institution’s wonders.
