Governor Edwards holds a ceremonial bill signing for “Katie Bug’s Law.” It requires drug testing of all drivers involved in crashes that result in serious injury. Bossier City Senator Ryan Gatti says the bill is named for 4-year-old Katie Grantham who died in the days following a wreck in 2017.

Judge Nicole Sheppard denied the NFL’s motion to dismiss the suit.  Attorney Tony LeMon says if the league has nothing to hide, they should not resist being questioned in court, adding they should apologize if they did something wrong.

Louisiana’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate last June was four-point-three percent, a point-seven-percent decline from the previous June. According to the governor’s office, that’s the largest such drop for any state and Louisiana’s unemployment rate is the lowest it has been since January 2008.

While Flay went for a “deconstructed” boil with items like crawfish mayo potato salad, and crawfish tarragon buttered corn. Ducote kept it classic, and even tried for a traditional presentation.

Alexandria Police are investigating the death of 5-year-old girl after she was brought to an emergency room, deceased with her throat cut.  The mother reported that her daughter’s injuries were an accident.  Police have not made any arrests, but they are investigating the death as a possible homicide. The Town Talk newspaper reports the mother’s 4-year-old son died in April choking on a soda cap and the father of the children died in 2016.

18-year-old Barron Semaj Bailey has been arrested in connection with the killing of a eight month pregnancy Minden women, 19-year-old NaToyedre Barrow, who was struck by one of the seven bullets that cut through her residence and killed her as she slept on the couch. Authorities say they’ve seized the assault rifle that they believe fired the bullet in the gang related incident. Bailey is facing one count of second degree murder, and first degree feticide.
