The state transportation department is mourning the death of a DOTD worker killed while working on an asphalt project in DeSoto Parish on U.S. Highway 171. Trooper Jonathan Odom says 35-year-old Christopher Gray of Lake Charles was killed after an empty log truck driven by 42-year-old Charles Barker of Florein hit two DOTD vehicles.
