There was a school shooting in Louisiana yesterday. It happened at St. Helena College and Career Academy which is a high school in Greensburg. Authorities say a 14-year-old student fatally shot another student and wounded two others. The suspected gunman is in custody and classes for today and tomorrow are canceled.

In St Helena Parish one person is dead and two others injured after a shooting at St. Helena College and Career Academy this afternoon. A second shooting victim reportedly showed up at a local hospital claiming that others may be hurt and third victim is reportedly being airlifted to children’s hospital in Baton Rouge. Updated COVID-19 booster shots have been approved by the FDA. The vaccines will target the XBB 1.5 variant ahead of a potential winter uptick in infections. LSU Health New Orleans Infectious Disease specialist Dr. Fred  Lopez says cases have increased in recent weeks and urges the public to consider the vaccination.
