AAA forecasts the number of travelers for the Thanksgiving holiday to be the highest since 2005. Whether on the roadway, in the airports, or on cruise ships. AAA spokesperson Don Redman says its a sign of confidence in the economy.

Bossier City Police say they found two people shot to death inside an apartment complex on East Texas Street. Details are limited at this hour.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s office says they’ve arrested two in the October 13th shooting death of local boxer 28-year-old Brandon Broussard. 41-year-old Shavis Toby of Vermilion Parish was booked with second-degree murder and authorities nabbed the second suspect out of state.

The cook in your family will likely begin preparing today that turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. LSU AgCenter food safety expert Wenqing Xu (When-Ching Shuh) says do not wash the turkey before you bake it. She says it will not remove any bacteria that should be killed in the oven and it could lead to cross contamination….

Louisiana can now enforce a 2016 law that prohibits those under the age of 21 from performing as an exotic dancer in bars and nightclubs. Solicitor General Liz Murrill, with the Louisiana A-G’s office, says a federal appeals court panel originally said the law was too vague, but reversed their decision after the A-G’s office made their case again…

Three young women filed a lawsuit challenging the law claiming it infringed on their First Amendment rights to freedom of expression.

A new drug is available for those who have a life threatening peanut allergy. LSU Health New Orleans allergy expert, Doctor Sanjay Kamboj, says its an oral medication that builds up peanut tolerance and it should prevent death if a person consumes a tiny portion of peanuts…

One in 50 Americans is estimated to have a peanut allergy, something patients are usually stuck with for their entire lives.

Les Miles is back as a college football coach. The “Mad Hatter” has a five-year deal with the Kansas Jayhawks that will pay the 65-year-old two-point-seven million dollars a year. Miles says he’s been eager to coach again, since LSU fired him in September of 2016

The state Department of Children and Family Services will help organizations tied to the United Way with workforce training for food stamp recipients in seven southeast Louisiana parishes. DCFS Secretary Market Garner Walters says these organizations will receive federal dollars for doing such training for people on the SNAP rolls…

Researchers have developed a new drug that can help those who have a life threatening reaction to peanuts. LSU Health New Orleans Allergy expert, Doctor Sanjay Kamboj, says it’s an oral medication that builds up peanut tolerance in allergy sufferers over six months. That’s by slowly introducing a non-fatty peanut protein in small batches. Kamboj says they ran the experiment on 372 children.

Two thirds of the participants who took the treatments saw positive results.

A young leader is emerging in Avoyelles Parish. 19-year-old Stanley Celestine Junior has been elected to the Avoyelles school board and will begin serving his term in January.Celestine says he wants to take a closer look at the school system’s discipline policies

The Department of Children and Family Services is teaming up with the United Way in an effort to expand workforce training for SNAP recipients in seven southeast Louisiana parishes. DCFS Secretary Marketa Garner Walters says the partnership expands who can receive federal dollars to be used to reimburse programs for the cost of training with SNAP recipients.

The Saints look unstoppable as New Orleans won its ninth straight yesterday beating the defending Super Bowl champs, the Philadelphia Eagles, 48-7. Quick turn around for New Orleans as the Saints host Atlanta this Thursday.

The Louisiana Workforce Commission reports that nonfarm employment has increased by 19,400 since October 2017 as the state has seen 13 consecutive months of job growth. L-W-C Secretary Ava Dejoie says the mining and logging sector is part of that job growth, with 2,100 jobs added since October 2017…

The Senate has not supported a Farm Bill that includes work requirements for food stamp recipients.

A 19-year-old is gearing up for his first term on his local school board. Stanley Celestine Junior received 65-percent of the vote on November sixth for a seat on the Avoyelles Parish School Board. He’s also pursuing a bachelor’s in sociology through an online program at McNeese State. Celestine says he also works in the mental health field and owns his own consulting company for non-profits

Celestine says he’s not sure where his future will take him, but he wants to have an impact in childrens lives.

Former Saints safety Malcolm Jenkins flipped the bird at Sean Payton after the Saints scored on a 37-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-six with 13:22 left to go in the game and the Saints already up by 31 points.

A Thanksgiving dinner in Louisiana is quite the bargain, when compared to the nationwide cost. The American Farm Bureau says the average nationwide cost is $48.90, but in Louisiana it’s half that. Louisiana Farm Bureau spokesperson Avery Davidson says turkeys are much cheaper in the Bayou State….
