Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto says a suspect is in custody in the murder of a woman and two children at a home in Terrytown. Lopinto says it appears the victims died from blunt force trauma in an attack that also seriously injured a teenager and another child. Lopinto says the suspect has confessed to the crimes.

There’s a radio ad airing mainly on urban stations critizing Governor John Bel Edwards for the amount of funding he’s provided for early childhood education. Edwards re-election campaign says the ads are blatantly false and asked for the commercial to be pulled down. A group called Truth in Politics produced the spot and spokesperson Jay Connaughton says the ads are still running and they stand by their message…

A study involving over 650-thousand children in Denmark found that the vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella does not cause autism. Louisiana Department of Health Immunization Director, Doctor Frank Welch, says the vaccination-autism myth originated from a study in England involving a group of less than 12 autistic children, where the researcher concluded that many of their autistic symptoms happened after their vaccinations.

10th ranked LSU basketball is one win away from at least a share of an SEC Championship after beating Florida 79-78 in overtime to go undefeated on the road in the SEC. It’s the second time LSU has played an overtime contest and they are 5-and-2 in those games. And it was another come from behind victory for LSU as they were down by eight with just over six minutes left. Tremont Waters had 19 points to lead the way, including a lay-up at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.

Elsewhere, DaQuan Bracey had 21 points as Louisiana Tech defeated Florida Atlantic 72-69 as the Bulldogs won their first Conference USA road game.

Southeastern Louisiana clinched the third seed in the Southland tournament with an 81-67 win over UNO.

McNeese was eliminated from Southland Conference contention as the Cowboys lost to Corpus Christi, Nicholls defeated Northwestern State 83-60. Both teams are barely alive for a spot in the Southland tourney.

Spring football begins today for the LSU Tigers. Steve Ensminer returns as the offensive coordinator and he has another year to work with starting quarterback Joe Burrow. In the NBA, after beating the Jazz on Monday night, New Orleans hosts Utah tonight for a 7 PM tip. The Pelicans have won three straight.

After getting swept by Texas this past weekend, the 10th ranked LSU baseball team returns home tonight to host Holy Cross, who has just one win on the season. Sophomore right-hander Ma’Khail Hilliard makes his first start of the season. In two relief appearances, he’s pitched three scoreless innings. First pitch is at 6:30.

Also today, Southeastern Louisiana hosts ULM. The Lions beat the Warhawks 10-3 yesterday. The Cajuns are at McNeese after beating Nicholls three to one last night. The Colonels visit South Alabama.

In Southland Conference basketball action tonight, McNeese must beat Texas A-and-M Corpus Christi if it wants to reach the Southland Conference Tournament. The Pokes have lost eight straight games to the Islanders. Nicholls and Northwestern State are also in must win situations. They play each other in Thibodaux. UNO and Southeastern Louisiana battle for third place in a meeting in Hammond.

At the state boys basketball tournament, Bossier has advanced and the Bearkats will play Breaux Bridge on Friday night in the Class 4A championship game.
