New Orleans’ defense forced three fumbles and intercepted two passes against the New York Giants in their 26-14 win on Sunday. Saints cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry intercepted quarterback Jaxson Dart twice and says the unit takes a lot of pride in taking the ball from opposing offenses.

Saints fans at Sunday’s game at the Superdome were excited to see their team pull off their first win since December of 2024 and their first of the 2025 season. – a 26-14 come-from-behind win over the New York Giants.

New Orleans looks to ride its momentum as they host the New England Patriots on Sunday at noon.

LSU head coach Brian Kelly says quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is a go for Saturday’s game against South Carolina. Kelly says Nussmeier used the bye week to get more mental reps without having to put any pressure on his ab.

LSU right tackle Weston Davis will make his return against South Carolina after breaking his nose and receiving a concussion in pregame warmups at Ole Miss.

Running back Caden Durham is also going to be back this week after missing the Ole Miss game due to a high ankle sprain.

Kelly listed wide receiver Aaron Anderson as probable after he has been dealing with a toe, hip and knee injury that forced him to exit the Ole Miss game.

Redshirt sophomore left guard Paul Mubenga is questionable for the South Carolina game as he is still dealing with an ankle injury that he suffered against Ole Miss.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart was drafted 25th overall by the New York Giants in this year’s NFL Draft. Dart says that he’s going into Sunday’s game against the Saints with an extra chip on his shoulder.

Saints rookie cornerback Quincy Riley is expected to make his first start against the Giants on Sunday. Riley was drafted in the fourth round at pick 131. Kickoff in New Orleans is at noon.

It’s homecoming on the Northwestern State campus this weekend as the Demons host East Texas A&M in the Southland opener for both teams. The Lions are winless on the season, and Northwestern Coach Blaine McCorkle says his defense has prepared to play two different quarterbacks.

The Demons kickoff in Turpin Stadium at 6 p.m.

Southeastern is 3-2 after coming off of a 45-31 win over Texas Rio Grande Valley. The Lions play two quarterbacks on offense, junior Carson Camp and sophomore Kyle Lowe. Head coach Frank Scelfo commends the two quarterbacks for being able to make such a difficult system work.

The Lions continue with Southland play as they face McNeese State in Lake Charles on Saturday. Kickoff at Navarre Stadium is at 6 p.m.

ULM is back on the road this weekend as they take on Northwestern in their final non-conference game this season. The Warhawks are coming off of a huge win against Arkansas State and are looking to keep momentum against the Wildcats. Kickoff in Evanston is at 2:30 p.m.

After a 27-7 loss to Eastern Kentucky, Nicholls looks to bounce back against Lamar on Saturday at 3 p.m.

LSU football coach Brian Kelly said backup quarterback Michael Van Buren is getting all of the snaps this week with the first team offense as the Tigers used the bye week to give starter Garrett Nussmeier a chance to rest an ab strain. Kelly says Van Buren is progressing well.

The New Orleans offense will be challenged with facing one of the best defensive lines in the NFL facing the New York Giants which features Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns. With a banged-up offensive line, quarterback Spencer Rattler says the Saints will have to get the ball out quickly.

Northwestern State will play a home game for the first time in 37 days on Saturday when it hosts East Texas A&M. The Demons are coming off of a bye week, and head coach Blaine McCorkle says that his team has a chance to learn from their heartbreaking 27 to 24 loss to Prairie View A&M.

The Saints announce they have finalized a long-term lease of the Caesars Superdome, ending a contentious negotiation with state officials with a deal aimed at keeping the team in the city.

The deal between the Saints organization and the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District, known as the Superdome Commission, was made official during a news conference on Thursday. The stadium lease deal is going to run for 10 years and then give the Saints options to renew every five years through 2055.

LSU football coach Brian Kelly says any speculation quarterback Garrett Nussmeier needs surgery to repair an injury he suffered in fall camp is just not true.

Kelly says Nussmeier will do plenty of mental work without having to throw the ball during the bye week which will allow him to rest with the ab injury.

Even though Kelly says that Nussmeier is healthy, former LSU quarterback Rohan Davey thinks that something is wrong with the starting quarterback after seeing multiple uncharacteristic underthrows this season.

It’s official: the 2027 College Football Playoff National Championship game will be played at the Cesar’s Superdome on January 24, 2028. Bringing the game to New Orleans costed the city $6 million according to Sugar Bowl CEO Jeff Hundley.

Nicholls football dropped to 1 and 4 on the season after a disappointing 27-7 loss to Eastern Kentucky. The Colonels scored on the third play of the game but were not able to score for the rest of the game. Head coach Tommy Rybacki says his team has to do a better job of executing.

Nicholls travels to Beaumont to face Lamar on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Colonels are looking to stay undefeated in Southland play.

The Saints are banged up with plenty of injuries, but the black and gold get tight end Taysom Hill back on the practice field this week. Head coach Kellen Moore said that it will take some time for Hill to get fully healthy, but the team is excited to bring back the veteran.

The 2027 College Football Playoff National Championship Game will be played in New Orleans on January 24, 2028. The title game will be played at the Caesar’s Superdome and it will be the first time a college football national championship has been in New Orleans since 2020, when LSU defeated Clemson by a score of 42-25. The Allstate Sugar Bowl is hosting a press conference on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with appearances from Governor Jeff Landry, Sugar Bowl representatives, College Football Playoff representatives and more.

ULM is coming off of a 28-16 rivalry win over Arkansas State to start Sun Belt Play 1-0. The Warhawks will be on the road for the third time this season as they take on Northwestern on Saturday. Head coach Bryant Vincent says he favors playing games like this early on rather than later in the season.

Louisiana Tech head football coach Sonny Cumbie announced on the Tim Fletcher Show senior linebacker Kolbe Fields will miss the remainder of the 2025 season after suffering a knee injury which will require surgery in the Bulldogs 30-11 win over UTEP. Fields was one of the best defensive players in the Conference USA, totaling 39 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and 2 interceptions through five games.

All events during homecoming weekend at Peabody Magnet High School were cancelled because of what officials say was a credible security threat. Community activist Tony Brown says people had been lined up along the parade route for hours before word came down that the parade had been cancelled.

The most exciting game of the weekend was in Lafayette as the Ragin Cajuns rallied back from a 17-point third quarter deficit and defeated Marshall 54-51 in double overtime. Backup quarterback Lunch Whitfield came off the bench and accounted for five touchdowns…

The Cajuns are off this Saturday and will visit James Madison on October 11th.

Multiple reports have confirmed The College Football Playoff national championship game for the 2027 season will be played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Jan. 24, 2028. The championship game that season will be played in addition to the Sugar Bowl, which will likely serve as a quarterfinal contest if the CFP stays under its current format.

UL-Lafayette football responded in a huge way after ending its two-game losing streak with a 54 to 51 win over Marshall. The victory gives the Cajuns a 2-3 record heading into its first bye weekend. Head coach Michael Desormeaux says he’s proud of how his team responded to a two-game losing streak…

Many LSU fans are down on their football team following Saturday’s 24-19 loss to Ole Miss. It’s the Tigers first loss of the season and the offense does not look good. Junior Linebacker Whit Weeks has not lost faith though…

The Saints kept it close; but once again, they just couldn’t get over the hump as they fell to the Buffalo Bills, 31-19. The loss drops the Saints to 0-and-4 on the season and left quarterback Spencer Rattler still searching for his first NFL win as a starting quarterback. After the game, Head Coach Kellen Moore said the Saints will keep improving and will get into the win column soon.

Moore announced that right guard Cesar Ruiz will be out this week after he suffered a right ankle injury in Sunday’s game against the Bills.

Former LSU and current New York Giants receiver Malik Nabers will miss the rest of the 2025 season after tearing his ACL against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Going into Sunday’s game, Nabers had the fourth most receiving yards in the NFL.

LSU’s offense looked much more comfortable against Southeastern, scoring eight total touchdowns. The Tigers look to bring some momentum against Ole Miss on Saturday and head coach Brian Kelly says the offense needs to stay simplified.

Sophomore running back Caden Durham is questionable with an ankle injury while tight end Trey’Dez Green and linebacker West Weeks are both probable. Kickoff in Oxford is at 2:30 p.m.

UL-Lafayette will host Marshall Saturday at 7 p.m. in what will be a rematch of the 2024 Sun-Belt Championship game where the Herd blew out the Cajuns by a score of 31 to 3. The Cajuns are looking to start fresh with conference play this week after starting the season 1 and 3.

Louisiana Tech travels to El Paso to face UTEP on Saturday at 8 p.m.

The Saints are desperately looking to get into the win column after losing the first three games of the season. In their 44-13 blowout loss to Seattle, New Orleans was charged with 11 penalties for 77 yards, including several false starts. Quarterback Spencer Rattler says the team has to get better with limiting penalties so that the offense can operate smoother.

After a much-needed bye week, Southern will host Jackson State Saturday at 6 p.m. in the BoomBox Classic. The Jags are trying to win their first game against the Tigers since 2020.

Grambling State will travel to Texas to take on Prairie View A&M on Saturday at 6 p.m. The Tigers are looking to keep its momentum going after two straight wins.

It’s been nothing short of an eventful week for the Kiffin family. Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin’s daughter, Landry Kiffin, launched her relationship with LSU junior linebacker Whit Weeks on Instagram earlier this week. Kiffin says that he is happy for his daughter and approves of Weeks.

The Saints will travel to the Buffalo this weekend to face the reigning MVP Josh Allen and the undefeated Bills. Safety Justin Reid says that Allen is such a good quarterback because of his ability to extend plays.

UL-Lafayette’s football team has dug itself into a deep hole after starting the season 1-3 before entering conference play. The Cajuns will look to get back on track against Marshall this weekend in what will be a very different rematch of the 2024 Sun Belt Championship. Head coach Michael Desormeaux (DEZ-er-moe) says that his team has to continue working on fixing its issues.

Kickoff on Saturday in Lafayette will be at 7 p.m.

Former LSU and current Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes capped off his incredible season on Wednesday evening after shutting out the Cincinnati Reds. Skenes will end his second season in the MLB with a league best 1.97 ERA. Skenes threw 187 and two-thirds innings pitched while striking out 216 batters. Despite having some of the best numbers, Skenes finishes with a 10-10 record, but is still the favorite to win the NL Cy Young Award.

The last time LSU played Ole Miss in Oxford, the Rebels won a shootout, 55 to 49. The Tigers’ defense allowed a single game record of 706 yards. LSU Coach Brian Kelly brings a better defense to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium this time, but Kelly says his offense will still be needed to score…

LSU’s defense will have to prepare for two quarterbacks as the Rebels could play both Trinidad Chambliss and Austin Simmons.

Ahead of the top-15 matchup between the Tigers and the Rebel, head coach Lane Kiffin’s daughter, Landry Kiffin, hard-launched her relationship with LSU junior linebacker Whit Weeks on Instagram. The Ole Miss head coach reacted on X, advising betters to take the over in points.

In New Orleans beatdown in Seattle, the Saints trailed 38-6 at halftime against the Seahawks. The 38 points are the most New Orleans has allowed in the first half in franchise history. Head coach Kellen Moore is eager to see how his team responds to blowout loss…

It won’t get any easier for the Saints this week as the black and gold travel to Buffalo to face the reigning MVP, Josh Allen, and the undefeated Bills on Sunday.

And NOLA.com is reporting the Superdome lease negotiations have stalled because of pending deals regarding related properties, such as the Benson Tower, Champions Square and the Saints practice facility. According to Times-Picayune reporter Jeff Duncan, the state wants a lease agreement on the Superdome only and draw up separate lease deals for the other properties, while the Saints prefer all of it under one lease agreement.
