The LSU men’s basketball season came to an end today as the Tigers fell 87-82 against ninth-seeded Kentucky in the opening round of the SEC Tournament. LSU finishes the season 15-and-17, which is head coach Matt McMahon’s second consecutive and third total losing season in Baton Rouge.

McNeese women’s basketball defeated Texas Rio Grande Valley 67-52 to win their 21st straight game. With the win, the Cowgirls advance to the Southland Tournament championship game, where they will play either Lamar or Stephen F. Austin tomorrow at 4 p.m.

The Louisiana Tech women’s basketball team throttled Delaware, 72-43, this afternoon to advance to the Conference USA Tournament semifinals. The Lady Techsters will face either Liberty or Sam Houston on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Grambling State fell 68-65 to seventh-seeded Jackson State in the second round of the SWAC Tournament to end the Tigers’ season.

The Louisiana Tech men’s basketball team will open Conference USA Tournament play tomorrow against Middle Tennessee at 5:30 p.m.

The Saints’ several new free agency signings are now official. New Orleans addressed a key positional need by signing offensive guard David Edwards. Edwards, who spent the past three seasons with Buffalo and won a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2022, is expected to start at left guard. According to WWL Saints sideline reporter Jeff Nowak, Edwards’ addition gives the offensive line the potential to be something special next season.

The thirteenth-ranked LSU baseball team ended a two-game losing streak last night after defeating Creighton 8-4.

UL-Lafayette baseball improved to 13-and-4 last night after beating Texas Rio Grande Valley 11-7.

Louisiana Tech only tallied one hit in its 6-0 shutout loss to Lamar last night.

The LSU baseball team looks to put an end to its offensive struggles tonight when the Tigers host Creighton at 6:30 p.m. in their last game before conference play. This season, LSU is hitting .291, which ranks 14th out of 16 teams in the SEC.

The UL-Lafayette baseball team is coming off a series win against Dallas Baptist. The Cajuns will play four games at home this weekend, starting with Texas Rio Grande Valley tonight. UL-Lafayette currently holds the number-12 RPI but remains unranked after opening the season 12-and-4. Head coach Matt Deggs doesn’t want his team looking too far ahead and believes the Cajuns must focus on controlling what they can and continue to improve each day as a team.

Louisiana Tech baseball looks to keep its two-game win streak going against Lamar at 6 p.m.

The McNeese men’s basketball team opens play in the Southland Conference Tournament tonight, facing Texas Rio Grande Valley at 8:30 p.m. The Cowboys split the season series with the Vaqueros, but this matchup carries more significance as both teams battle to stay alive for a chance at an NCAA Tournament berth.

McNeese women’s basketball will also face Texas Rio Grande Valley in their first game of the Southland tournament. Tipoff tomorrow is at 10:30 a.m.

Last night, Grambling State men’s basketball opened up the SWAC Tournament with a dominant 77-52 win over Mississippi Valley State. The Tigers connected on 13 three-pointers in the victory. Grambling will face seventh-seeded Jackson State tonight at 8:30 p.m.

Tomorrow, the LSU men’s basketball team will open up play at the SEC Tournament against ninth-seeded Kentucky at 11:30 a.m.

Coach Brooke Stoehr and her Lady Techsters will take on eighth-seeded Delaware tomorrow morning at 11:30 to open up play in the Conference U-S-A tournament.

LSU senior guard Flau’jae Johnson is one of five finalists for the Ann Meyers-Drysdale Award, which recognizes the nation’s top shooting guard.

Veteran linebacker Demario Davis will not return to New Orleans and instead is signing with the New York Jets on a two-year, $22 million deal that includes $15 million guaranteed. It will mark Davis’ second stint with the Jets, as he began his career in New York after being drafted in 2012.

Former Jaguars running back Travis Etienne is signing a four-year, $52 million deal with the Saints. Last season, Etienne rushed for over 11-hundred yards with seven touchdowns.  The Jennings native returns to his home state.

New Orleans is also signing veteran guard David Edwards to a four-year, $61 million deal. Edwards spent the last three seasons as a starter in  Buffalo and won a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2022.  Former Vikings and Tulane punter Ryan Wright is coming back to New Orleans as he is signing a four-year, $14 million deal with the black and gold.

Former Louisiana Tech and Lions cornerback Amik Robertson is signing with the Washington Commanders on a two-year, $16 million deal.

ULM fired men’s basketball coach Phil Cunningham today. In two seasons with the Warhawks, Cunningham compiled an 11-53 record.

McNeese is hosting the Southland Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments for the fourth straight year this week. The Cowboys enter the tournament second in the conference behind Stephen F. Austin and will play their first game tomorrow night in the semifinals. Sports Information Director Matthew Bonnette thinks home court advantage will give the Cowboys a good shot at completing the three-peat.

LSU assistant coach Gary Redus II has been hired as the new women’s head coach at Rutgers. During his tenure, Redus helped the Tigers assemble some of the nation’s top recruiting classes, including unanimous No. 1 classes in 2023 and 2025.

The LSU baseball team dropped to No. 13 in this week’s D1Baseball rankings after losing four of its last five games.

Wednesday night was a special night for Ragin Cajun baseball fans as U-L Lafayette defeated second-ranked LSU seven to two in front of 57-hundred fans, the third largest crowd in school history. Coach Matt Deggs’ team scored three runs in the first and never trailed…

The Cajuns improved to 10-3 with the win, and LSU fell to 11-3 with the loss.

The Nicholls baseball team also pulled off an impressive upset last night after beating tenth-ranked Southern Mississippi three-to-two. It’s the Colonel’s first win over a top 25 opponent since last year’s eight-to-five victory over Southern Miss.

Louisiana Tech baseball dropped its fifth straight game last night after falling eight-to-two to Arkansas State. The Bulldogs will try to get back in the win column tomorrow as they take on South Alabama in Mobile at 6:30 p.m.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Saints veteran defensive end Cameron Jordan will not have a new deal in place with New Orleans by next week and will hit free agency for the first time in his NFL career. Jordan will return for a 16th NFL season and is said to be open to leaving New Orleans.

The LSU women’s basketball team will enter the SEC Tournament as a projected two seed in the NCAA Tournament. Three of the four number-one seeds are essentially locked up by UConn, UCLA and South Carolina. If the Tigers can secure the fourth and final top seed, ESPN Bracketologist Charlie Crème believes it will create a more favorable path to the national championship.

The UL-Lafayette baseball team is set to host second-ranked LSU tonight in front of a sold-out Tigue. The Cajuns used only eight pitchers in their series win over UC San Diego last weekend. Head coach Matt Deggs says the team is prepared to do whatever it takes to secure a marquee win and boost its RPI.

Yesterday, Team USA dominated Tony Vitello’s San Francisco Giants 15-1 in an exhibition game leading up to group play for the World Baseball Classic. Former LSU Tigers Paul Skenes and Alex Bregman both had big games. Skenes struck out four hitters in three innings while only allowing one run. Bregman was just one of two players to leave the yard after he launched a solo shot in the fourth inning.

ULM baseball will conclude its midweek series with Southeastern tonight at 6 p.m.

Louisiana Tech baseball continues to struggle as they were blown out again last night, falling to Arkansas State ten to two. That’s four consecutive losses in Ruston for the Bulldogs, which is the first time that’s happened since 2014. Head coach Lane Burroughs says he did not like his team’s effort.

Tech looks to avenge its loss to Arkansas State tonight as the Bulldogs conclude the midweek series with the Red Wolves at 6 p.m.

The UL-Lafayette men’s basketball team secured an 84-75 win over Georgia State in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament last night. The Cajuns will try to survive and advance tonight when they face James Madison at 5 p.m.

Oak Grove’s Caroline Bradley continued to show why she’s the top-ranked center in the class of 2027 last night with a 29-point, 20-rebound performance against Westlake. Despite the big performance, the Tigers fell 46-45 to Westlake in the Division III non-select state semifinals.

Second-ranked LSU dropped its second game of the season last night in a 13- 10 loss to Northeastern. Senior right-hander Zac Cowan and sophomore left-hander Cooper Williams combined to give up eight runs on eight hits. Coach Jay Johnson says both pitchers have to do a better job of filling up the strike zone.

The Tigers will play their sixth game in eight days tomorrow against UL-Lafayette.

The Louisiana Tech baseball team looks to bounce back against Arkansas State tonight after being swept by Southern Miss last weekend. Tech was without junior catcher Hayden Gustavson this weekend, but head coach Lane Burroughs believes the Bulldogs will be dangerous when at full strength.

Former Saints offensive lineman Will Clapp is joining the team’s coaching staff as an offensive assistant. Clapp announced his retirement last week after an eight-year NFL career.

The Southeastern Conference honored four LSU women’s basketball players in its annual postseason awards on Tuesday morning. Junior guard MiLaysia Fulwiley was named SEC Sixth Woman of the Year, becoming just the third player in program history to earn the honor, joining Sylvia Fowles and Allison Hightower. Senior guard Flau’jae Johnson and junior guard Mikaylah Williams were both selected to the All-SEC First Team, while freshman forward ZaKiyah Johnson earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team.

The LSU men’s basketball team will take on Auburn tonight at 9 p.m.

The UL-Lafayette men’s basketball team faces Georgia State in the first round of the Sun Belt Tournament tonight at 5 p.m. ULM will play Old Dominion immediately afterward.

UL-Lafayette graduate student left-handed pitcher Andrew Hermann was named as the Sun Belt pitcher of the week after his complete-game, one-hit shutout against UC San Diego.

The LSU baseball team improved to 11-1 yesterday afternoon with a three-to-nothing win over Dartmouth. It was not a great weekend for LSU’s bats. The Tigers scored just 11 runs over the last three games after scoring 34 runs in three games in Jacksonville. Jake Brown, who homered for the fifth time on the season on Sunday, is confident the bats will come back around…

LSU hosts Northeastern tonight at 6:30 to conclude the wrap-around series. The Tigers remained as the No. 2 team in this week’s D1baseball rankings.

LSU football coach Lane Kiffin will ride in his second parade in a month on Saturday, March 14, in Baton Rouge at the St. Patrick’s Day parade with comedian Theo Von. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and will ride through the Hundred Oaks neighborhood and Perkins Road overpass area in town.

The LSU women’s basketball team concluded the regular season with a 72-63 win over Mississippi State yesterday.  Junior guard Mikaylah Williams recorded her third consecutive double-double with a season-high 26 points and career-high 15 rebounds in the win. Head coach Kim Mulkey said allowing Williams to play inside recently has boosted her productivity.

The Tigers stayed put as the No. 6 team in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll. They came in as a two-seed and the No. 7 overall team in the latest NCAA Tournament projections by ESPN Bracketologist Charlie Crème.

The McNeese men’s basketball team will take on Nicholls in Thibodaux tonight in their last regular-season game of the year. Tipoff is at 6:30 p.m.

UNO men’s basketball will host Southeastern in the regular-season finale tonight at 7 p.m.

The sixth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team capped off senior night with an 89-73 win over Tennessee last night. Junior guard Mikaylah Williams recorded a double-double, as she led the team with a team-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. In her final regular-season home game at LSU, Flau’jae Johnson scored 10 points and had three rebounds. Johnson, who is also a successful hip-hop artist, says she’s been able to accomplish both basketball and music through hard work.

Last night, the Louisiana Tech men’s basketball team defeated Missouri State 72-70 to improve to 16-12 on the year. Junior guard DJ Dudley scored 27 points in the win.

The second-ranked LSU baseball team looks to bounce back tonight against Dartmouth after suffering its first loss of the season to McNeese on Tuesday. The Tigers will most likely be without Chris Stanfield this weekend as he continues to deal with a hand injury. Even without Stanfield, LSU is lighting up the scoreboard, averaging 11.4 runs a game. Coach Jay Johnson says multiple players have done a good job stepping up and producing in his absence.

Louisiana Tech baseball looks to keep its four-game winning streak going as the Bulldogs play host to twelfth-ranked Southern Miss this weekend. First pitch on Friday is at 6 p.m.

The UL-Lafayette baseball team is one of the hottest teams in the country as the Cajuns are riding a seven-game winning streak. The Cajuns will host UC San Diego this weekend and first pitch tonight is at 6 p.m.

LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson provided updates on sophomore catcher Cade Arrambide and senior outfielder Chris Stanfield. Arrambide, who left Tuesday’s game against McNeese with a foot injury, is expected to play this weekend. Johnson said Stanfield is recovering from a hand injury but does not anticipate him playing this weekend.

New Orleans Saints veteran center Will Clapp has announced he’s retiring after eight seasons in the NFL. Clapp suffered a foot injury in the preseason, which caused him to mis the entire 2025 season. The New Orleans native played six of his eight seasons with the Saints.

NFL combine workouts begin today, and LSU wide receivers Aaron Anderson, Barion Brown, Chris Hilton Jr., and Zavion Thomas will have the opportunity to boost their draft stocks after the Tigers struggled offensively in 2025. Mike Detillier of WWL Radio says he believes Anderson is the most NFL-ready of the group.

Devonta Lee, a former standout wide receiver at LSU, Louisiana Tech, and Amite High, has died after battling bone cancer.

The LSU men’s basketball team secured its first win since January after defeating Ole Miss 106-99 in double overtime last night. With the win, the Tigers improved to 15-and-13 on the year.

The Louisiana Tech men’s basketball team will host Missouri State tonight at 6:30 p.m.

The McNeese Cowboys handed second-ranked LSU its first loss of the season as the Pokes held on for a 7- 6 win at Alex Box Stadium Tuesday. The Tigers gave up 11 free passes in the loss, including six walks and five hit batters.  Sophomore catcher Cade Arrambide exited the game in the fourth inning with a foot injury, and his status for this weekend’s series is up in the air. LSU is now 8-and-1 on the year, while McNeese improved to 3-and-5.

The Louisiana Tech baseball team secured a 5-2 win over Northwestern State last night. Freshman right-hander Thomas Allen earned the win after tossing two scoreless innings.

The UL-Lafayette baseball team won its sixth straight game last night after shutting out Kansas State 1-0 at the Tigue. The Cajuns will host the Wildcats again at 6 p.m. tonight.

ULM Athletics has announced a jersey patch partnership with Samaritan’s Purse. Samaritan’s Purse is a Christian relief and evangelism organization based in Boone, North Carolina.

The Louisiana Tech women’s basketball team clinched the regular-season Conference USA title with its win over Kennesaw State Saturday. Head coach Brooke Stoehr said winning the program’s 38th conference title was not easy. She credits her team’s resilience throughout the long season.

The UL men’s basketball team fell to 7-and-10 in the Sun Belt with a 78-59 loss to Troy last night.

The LSU men’s basketball team looks to avoid its seventh straight loss tonight as the Tigers face Ole Miss in Oxford at 8 p.m. tonight.

According to Matt Belinson of The Ruston Leader, Grambling State head football coach Mickey Joseph has signed a two-year contract extension through 2027. The deal includes option years for 2028 and 2029, with the 2029 option becoming available if Joseph achieves eight wins in a season.
