LSU was upset by Bethune-Cookman on the baseball diamond last night as the Wildcats scored five runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Tigers ten to seven. LSU is 22-12 and six of their losses have come against nonconference opponents. Bethune-Cookman has an RPI of 212, so losing to the Wildcats will make it tougher for the Tigers to host an NCAA Regional in June. Sophomore outfielder Derek Curiel says they will likely have to win two more SEC games to make up for Tuesday night’s loss…

ULM got back in the win column last night with a 9-4 victory over Mississippi Valley State.

Louisiana Tech extended its winning streak to three games with a 7-0 win over Northwestern State on Tuesday.

Southeastern hosts UL-Lafayette tonight at 6 p.m., where Cajuns head coach Matt Deggs will serve the first of a two-game suspension.

The LSU football team is now two and a half weeks into spring practice, and one name starting to turn heads is early enrollee freshman Richard Anderson. Head coach Lane Kiffin says the top-rated defensive lineman in the 2026 class has been impressive so far.

The Pelicans scored a franchise-record 156 points in their regular-season finale win against the Jazz last night. Rookie guard Jeremiah Fears also set a franchise record for most points scored by a rookie with 40 points. Fears say his teammates did a great job of setting him up.

The Southeastern Conference announced its schedule for this summer’s SEC Media Days. Lane Kiffin, along with selected LSU players, will appear on the final day, Thursday, July 23.

LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt underwent a scheduled procedure to remove the pins in his surgically repaired foot, and coach Lane Kiffin says he expects him to miss the rest of spring practice.

Five-star prospect and Oak Grove girls basketball star Caroline Bradley is staying home as the six-foot-five center committed to LSU. All of the elite programs were recruiting her, including UCLA and South Carolina. Bradley says the relationship she’s built with LSU coach Kim Mulkey played a major factor in her decision…

According to ESPN, she’s ranked 3rd among the country’s Class of 2027 players.

College Basketball Insider for CBS Sports, Jon Rothstein, is reporting that former LSU head and assistant coach and player and Louisiana native, Johnny Jones, will join Will Wade’s staff.

McNeese freshman guard Larry Johnson is reportedly entering the transfer portal. Johnson broke Joe Dumars’ freshman scoring record at McNeese that had lasted 44 years.  Johnson averaged 17.5 points and 5.5 rebounds a game.

The LSU baseball team hosts Bethune-Cookman tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Louisiana Tech, coming off a much-needed series win at FIU this past weekend, will travel to Natchitoches to face the red-hot Demons of Northwestern State at 6 p.m. tonight. Northwestern State enters the matchup on a four-game winning streak.

ULM baseball dropped its second Sun Belt series of the season this past weekend, losing two games to Georgia State. Senior third baseman Jake Haggard, who leads the team in RBI’s with 41, missed game three of the series after being scratched with a back injury. Head coach Ford Pemberton expects Haggard to return to the lineup tonight against Mississippi Valley State.

The Chicago Sky has traded former LSU great and current two-time WNBA All-Star, Angel Reese, to the Atlanta Dream in exchange for a 2027 and 2028 first-round pick. Reese led the WNBA in rebounds last season with 12.6 boards per game. She also recorded a league-high 23 double-doubles.

LSU has hired former Miami assistant coach Fitzroy Anthony as one of Kim Mulkey’s two assistant coach additions this offseason. Anthony joins the Tigers’ coaching staff after spending 11 seasons at the University of Miami as an assistant coach since 2015. After seven successful seasons in Coral Gables, Anthony was promoted to associate head coach in 2022.

On the recruiting front, Oak Grove’s Caroline Bradley – a consensus five-star and the nation’s No. 1 center in the Class of 2027 – is set to announce her college choice during a family crawfish boil tonight. She is deciding between LSU, South Carolina, UCLA, Duke, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Alabama, Kentucky, and Texas A&M.

History was made in LSU’s wild come-from-behind win over Tennessee on Sunday. Sophomore Cade Arrambide became first player in school history to hit four home runs in one game as the Tigers defeated the Volunteers 16 to 6 in 12 innings. LSU Baseball Sports Information Director Bill Franques says it’s a rare accomplishment….

Arrambide’s fourth home run of the day was a grand slam that ignited a ten-run, 12th inning.

Arramabide earned SEC Co-Player of the Week honors after his historic performance on Sunday. He batted .600 (6-for-10) in three games last week, hitting four home runs with eight RBIs, six runs scored, three walks, and a .692 on-base percentage.

With their series win, the Tigers are now ranked No. 24 by D1Baseball.com. LSU will return to action on Tuesday, hosting Bethune-Cookman at 6:30 p.m.

The LSU baseball team begins a crucial three-game series in Knoxville against Tennessee this weekend. Junior outfielder Jake Brown says he enjoys playing on the road even if it means playing in hostile ballparks.

Louisiana Tech fell 7-4 to FIU last night to drop its eighth straight game. The Bulldogs will look to get back on track in Game 2 today at 5 p.m.

ULM baseball dropped a 10-7 heartbreaker to Georgia State in 13 innings in the series opener last night. The Warhawks will try to even the series today at 2 p.m.

Northwestern State baseball continues to stay hot, after securing a 17-9 win over Texas Rio Grande Valley in Game 1 of the series. Game 2 is set for tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Will Wade has made the first addition to his LSU coaching staff. Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports that former Mississippi State head coach Rick Stansbury is joining the Tigers as associate head coach. Stansbury is the all-time winningest coach in Mississippi State history, compiling a 293–166 record. He was most recently an assistant coach on Penny Hardaway’s staff at Memphis from 2022-2024.

LSU is getting ready to close out its second week of spring football practice. Last season, LSU’s rushing offense ranked 124th nationally, averaging just 104 yards per game. The offensive line also allowed 29 sacks. Sophomore running back Harlem Berry says this year’s unit has already shown tremendous improvement.

The LSU baseball team will look to carry its three-game winning streak into Knoxville this weekend as the Tigers face Tennessee. The Tigers are coming off their first SEC series win of the season, while the Volunteers were swept by Vanderbilt last weekend in a series that ended with walk-offs in every game. Coach Jay Johnson was asked about his interest in coaching at the major league level and did not completely rule out the possibility in the future.

UL-Lafayette is in Virginia this weekend to take on James Madison, with first pitch for Game 1 set for 5 p.m. CT tonight.

The ULM baseball team looks to stay hot as the Warhawks host Georgia State, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.

Louisiana Tech will try to snap its seven-game losing streak tonight on the road at FIU at 5 p.m.

UL-Lafayette is now two weeks into spring football practice. Last season, the Cajuns lost several offensive linemen to season-ending injuries. As they work to develop younger players, head coach Michael Desormeaux says sophomore Jakoby Isom (EYE-sum) showed promising flashes when called upon and is now emerging as a contender for a starting role.

The No. 2-seeded LSU Gymnastics team is set to begin its postseason journey tonight as the Tigers host the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional. LSU will compete in the second session of the Regional Second Round at 7 p.m. against No. 15-seeded Clemson, No. 9-seeded Nebraska, and Auburn. If LSU finishes in the top two tonight, it will advance to the regional final on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Last night, the LSU baseball team extended its win streak to three games after defeating Southern 16-6 in seven innings. The Tigers launched four home runs in the victory, including two solo shots from Steven Milam, a grand slam by Derek Curiel, and a two-run homer from John Pearson. LSU will be on the road this weekend at Tennessee.

ULM dominated Louisiana Tech 14-3 yesterday, which makes it seven straight losses for the Bulldogs. Tech head coach Lane Burrough says the team’s current struggles are raising concerns.

Southeastern secured its second win over a top-10 team yesterday after defeating eighth-ranked Southern Miss 5-1.

UL-Lafayette has now dropped three of its last four games after falling 10-7 to McNeese yesterday. The Cajuns are at James Madison this weekend.

Dr. Bryan Maggard, who serves as UL-Lafayette’s Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, has been appointed to the College Football Playoff Selection Committee. He will serve on the 13-person selection committee for the next three football seasons. Maggard, who’s one of three representatives from the Group of Six schools, says he hopes to be a voice for the G6, but only if they prove worthy of being in the conversation.

2026 LSU women’s basketball signee Lola Lampley made a statement in last night’s McDonald’s All-American Game. The 6-foot-2, five-star guard from Indianapolis scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds, and added an assist and a steal. Lampley is ranked as the No. 17 player in the nation by 247Sports.

LSU senior guard Flau’jae Johnson was named to the John R. Wooden All-America Team, which honors the top 10 women’s college basketball players in the country. Johnson averaged 14.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in her final season with the Tigers.

Will Wade was formally introduced as LSU’s new men’s basketball coach during an entertaining press conference yesterday. Wade left North Carolina State after just one season in Raleigh. He says he stopped worrying about public perception long ago and is now embracing the “villain” role in college basketball after making the move to return to Baton Rouge.

Wade said that he plans to attack the transfer portal when it opens on April 6th.

LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey added one of the nation’s top assistant coaches in Gabe Lazo Tuesday, strengthening LSU’s staff with an elite coach and recruiter. Lazo replaces Gary Redus, who recently accepted the head coaching position at Rutgers. He spent the past two seasons at Tennessee as the top assistant to head coach Kim Caldwell and played a key role in securing the Lady Vols’ No. 1 recruiting class in 2025.

LSU football coach Lane Kiffin confirmed that sophomore defensive end Gabe Reliford will miss the entire 2026 season after suffering a torn ACL in practice last week. Reliford has now suffered a season-ending injury for the second straight year, following last season’s early finish due to a shoulder injury that required surgery. Kiffin says it is a significant loss, particularly in a position room where depth is crucial.

Will Wade is returning to Baton Rouge as LSU’s men’s basketball coach four years after being fired for recruiting violations. Wade has signed a seven-year deal that will pay him four-million dollars in his first season. He’s also expected to have a roster budget exceeding 12-million dollars. Wade was fired by then-athletic director Scott Woodward in 2022. Current LSU AD Verge Ausberry was serving as an assistant athletic director at the time Wade was fired. Tiger Rag editor Glenn Guilbeau says Ausberry was very supportive of Wade and believes his firing wasn’t as significant as many made it out to be.

Wade arrived in Baton Rouge on Thursday night, where he was greeted by Ausberry, LSU President Wade Rousse, and several other LSU officials. As he left the airport, Wade jokingly told reporters that he would try to follow more rules this time.

With starting pitcher Cooper Moore sidelined for the next two to three weeks due to triceps soreness in his throwing arm, LSU will need to find another arm to start for the third game against Kentucky this weekend. Coach Jay Johnson hasn’t named a third starter, but the ability to pitch extended innings will factor into the decision.

Junior offensive tackle Jordan Seaton spoke to the media for the first time yesterday since transferring to LSU. Last summer, Seaton trained with former LSU and current Patriots left tackle Will Campbell. Seaton says seeing Campbell’s mindset toward football played a key role in his decision to end up in Baton Rouge.

It’s official! Will Wade is returning to Baton Rouge as LSU’s men’s basketball coach four years after being fired for recruiting violations. With that, LSU has fired Matt McMahon after leading the Tigers to an overall record of 60-and-70, including just 17 wins in the SEC, and no NCAA Tournament appearances. LSU will owe McMahon an $8 million buyout.

The speculation of a Will Wade reunion heated up when Heath Schroyer left his post as McNeese athletic director for a job at LSU as Senior Deputy AD.

According to multiple reports, Wade has signed a seven-year deal and is expected to have a roster budget exceeding $12 million.

Meanwhile, just one year after UNO brought in Percy “Master P” Miller to support its basketball program, the partnership has ended. Miller served in an unpaid, volunteer advisory role as president of basketball operations, helping facilitate fundraising efforts as the program improved from 4–27 last season to 15–18 this year.

The second-seeded LSU Lady Tigers are preparing for a Sweet 16 rematch against third-seeded Duke. Since Duke lost to LSU in December, it has won 21 of its last 23 games. The Blue Devils have also improved on the defensive end, allowing only 55.7 points per game since giving up 93 to the Tigers. Schwartz says the Tigers will have to do several things to advance to the Elite Eight on Sunday.

ULM introduced Ryan Cross as its new men’s basketball coach. Cross spent eight seasons as a Warhawk assistant before spending the last six years as an assistant at U-A-B. Cross says the ULM program is one that he has personal sweat equity invested…

A potential return to Baton Rouge for Will Wade is gaining momentum. According to ESPN Baton Rouge’s Matt Moscona, Wade met with NC State officials on Wednesday.

This comes as LSU is working to bring in McNeese athletic director Heath Schroyer for a senior administrative role. LSU’s head coaching job isn’t open, but both LSU President Wade Rousse and Schroyer hired Wade at McNeese.

Tiger Rag reported about two weeks ago that LSU was trying to reunite Schroyer and Rousse in Baton Rouge. NC State is expected to make a strong push to keep Wade, with a competitive offer likely coming within the next 24 hours.

Wade’s buyout is currently $5 million, but it will drop to $3 million after April 1.

Former UAB men’s basketball associate head coach Ryan Cross has been hired as the new head coach at ULM. Cross previously spent eight seasons with the Warhawks from 2012 to 2020 as an assistant under Keith Richard. Cross will be formally introduced at a press conference on Thursday morning.

Spring football is officially underway in Baton Rouge and coach Lane Kiffin has plenty of work ahead with a revamped roster. One player that has jumped out to Kiffin is rising junior tight end Trey’Dez Green. Kiffin knows that the 6-7 mismatch has all the athletic ability in the world, but believes his ultra-elite mindset is what separates him from many.

Last night, the LSU baseball team picked up a 15-5 run-rule win over Louisiana Tech baseball to get back in the win column. After being pulled from the lineup following a four-strikeout performance against Oklahoma last Saturday, senior first baseman Zach Yorke bounced back in a big way. Yorke went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs. The Tigers will host 19th-ranked Kentucky this weekend.
