Polls are open statewide in the December runoff election, and will stay open until 8 PM tonight. By the end of the day voters in the sprawling 5th Congressional District which includes northeast and central Louisiana, along with the northern half of the Florida Parishes will have picked a new Congressman. Despite interest in that race statewide Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin says they only expect turnout of 20 percent, down from 70 percent in November.

The only statewide issue is a constitutional amendment.

LSU is a 29 and a half point underdog against Bama tonight in Baton Rouge. The Crimson Tide are scoring 49 points a game and LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini has his work cut out for him…

Cut 16 (10) “…do that yet” 

The US Department of Justice is investigating the Louisiana Department of Corrections over allegations the state is keeping prisoners incarcerated long past their release date. Attorney William Most says the DOC has known since 2012 that they hold about 2,200 inmates past their release date every year.

The Louisiana Department of Corrections says they will fully cooperate with the US Department of Justice and the DOC takes this very seriously.

A swingers convention in New Orleans turns into a COVID super spreading event with 41 people testing positive. Despite that issue Nawghty in Nawlins head Bob Hannaford told the Jim Engster show they will be back in August.
