Early voting is underway for the December 5th run-offs. The main item on the ballot is the 5th district Congressional race in northeast and central Louisiana. Pfizer is seeking emergency approval from the FDA to begin distributing its COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. John Vanchiere at LSU Health Shreveport is a principal investigator on the Pfizer Vaccine clinical trial, which based on their studies has shown to be 95-percent effective. He says one in five young people have experienced minor flu-like symptoms, but that means your body is responding to the vaccine by building immune response.

Former Governor Edwin Edwards has been released from the hospital as the 93-year-old is responding well to treatment for double pneumonia. A family spokesperson says the Cajun Prince will remain under the care of home health nurses and he’ll also work with a physical therapist.
