A federal lawsuit filed on behalf of Louisiana landlords seeks to overturn the moratorium on rental evictions ordered by the CDC. Luke Wake an attorney with the Pacific Legal Foundation, filed the suit on behalf of a group of property owners in Monroe and the Apartment Association of Louisiana. The current moratorium on evictions is set to expire December 31st but Wake says it’s possible it could be renewed. He adds if the Federal Government wants to issue a moratorium on evictions then they need to enact proper policy.

As coronavirus cases spike in the state and we enter flu season, so far, the health department says we are not seeing as many cases of the flu. Region Three Medical Director Dr. Chip Riggins says last spring the state saw an abrupt end to flu season just as COVID mitigation measures were put into place.

Republican Senator Bill Cassidy supports President Donald Trump’s legal challenges in several states over the result of the November 3rd election but admits it will be difficult to get the courts to overturn the election.
Cassidy says it’s important for the over 70-million people that voted for the President that he gets his day in court. But he says the legal obstacles are apparent and if it turns out the courts do not rule in his favor, he’ll concede

The Pelicans have traded star guard Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks. In exchange for Holiday, the Pelicans received guards Eric Bledsoe and George Hill, as well as several future draft picks. The host of the Locked On Pelicans podcast Jake Madison says, when looking at what the Pels got in return, he’s pleased with the trade.
