It was a year ago today that Governor John Bel Edwards was re-elected to a second term after a runoff with Baton Rouge businessman Eddie Rispone. Political Analyst Bernie Pinsonat says Edwards has faced numerous challenges in the first year of his second term.

Former four-term Governor Edwin Edwards is back at home after spending a couple of days in the hospital.  Jim Shannon has the story.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees suffered a rib contusion in the first half of Sunday’s game against the 49ers. The 41-year-old QB will undergo an MRI today to look for possible cartilage damage. How long Brees could be out remains to be seen but most likely he’s out for Sunday’s game against Atlanta. Coach Sean Payton is expected to turn to Jamies Winston again. The former Tampa Bay QB played the majority second half of Sunday’s 27 to 13 win over San Francisco.
