Mardi Gras 2021 will not be canceled according to New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell but will be “different”. Matt Doyle has the story.

Lawyers for Dyteon Simpson, the man charged in the 2018 slaying of LSU basketball player Wade Sims says the trial should be moved from Baton Rouge. Attorneys for Simpson say he cannot get a fair trial in East Baton Rouge Parish because of news coverage. District attorney, Hillar Moore opposes the change of venue.

An Acadiana family mourns the loss of their teenage son. Reports say the body of 15-year old Quawan “Bobby” Charles was found in a sugarcane field by a law enforcement drone on Monday. It was October 28th when Hurricane Zeta struck southeast Louisiana, knocking out power to approximately half a million customers in the state. Power has been restored to most of the area and now less than 10-thousand customers remain without power. Governor John Bel Edwards thanked utility crews for their hard work and offered encouraging news.
