It’s been nine days since Hurricane Zeta struck southeast Louisiana and the storm did some damage to flood protection systems in the extreme southeastern portions of the state. Governor Edwards says he’s seen plenty of damage along the coast in Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes and the state doesn’t need another storm anytime soon so repairs can be made.

New Orleans Mayor LaToya cantrell announces the city is not planning to cancel Mardi Gras 2021 so far but warns it will be “different”. Mardi Gras Guide Publisher Arthur Hardy says  if Mardi Gras is severely limited or parades end up getting banned anyway celebrations will still be held and the party will pick back up in 2022.

A 19-year-old from Angie is facing two counts of first degree murder and two counts of attempted first degree murder linked to a shooting at a party in a Lafayette City park.
