Republican Senator Bill Cassidy has won a second term as he easily avoided a runoff in a race that featured 14 challengers. Cassidy received 59-percent of the vote and his closest competitor; Democratic Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins garnered 19-percent. Cassidy told supporters last night he’ll continue to uphold conservative ideals.
