The House and Senate are at an impasse over legislation stripping the Governor of his public health authority with only a week left until the special session ends.
For the first time in more than 20 years, there will not be a televised debate for Louisiana’s senate seat. Incumbent Republican Bill Cassidy’s campaign says the senator has not received a “firm invitation” to debate and he’s only interested if all 14 of his challengers take part. Democratic challenger, Adrian Perkins says several outlets have invited Cassidy, but he continues to decline.
New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell met with Saints officials Monday to discuss the return of fans to the Superdome. Mayor Spokesperson Beau Tidwell says negotiations are ongoing and they discussed what the Saints are seeking regarding fans in the stands.
Earlier this month the NFL franchise met with LSU officials about the possibility of playing at Tiger Stadium.
Areas impacted by Hurricanes Laura and Delta will begin to see C-130 planes overhead tonight as they take to the skies to reduce the mosquito population. Mike Steele with GOHSEP says FEMA approved funding for use of the planes and they are making a preemptive strike.
Planes will be flying from 6 until 8 pm.
