There was a terrific college football game last night in Lafayette, but a tough loss for the 21st ranked Ragin Cajuns as they fell to Coastal Carolina 30-27. The Cajuns turned it over just one time. Quarterback Levi Lewis threw an interception in the third quarter that led to a score for Coastal and there was also a costly illegal procedure penalty called on Louisiana in the fourth quarter. LSU has the weekend off as a COVID-19 outbreak involving the Florida football team has pushed back the Tigers-Gators game until December 12th. If there was a game this weekend, Coach Ed Orgeron says Quarterback Myles Brennan would have been doubtful with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.

The Saints are off this Sunday and their next game is October 25th against the Carolina Panthers. It’s a home game for the Black and Gold, who may play future home games at LSU’s Tiger Stadium because fans are allowed there and not the Superdome. Defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins says the biggest difference is that weather could be a factor in Baton Rouge

Coach Sean Payton says the team would embrace the opportunity of playing a game in front of their fans at Tiger Stadium.

The NFL awarded New Orleans the Super Bowl to be held in 2024, but with the league moving to a 17-game week regular-season schedule that would push the Super Bowl 2024 into the Carnival Season. So the city will host the Super Bowl in 2025 instead.
