The Saints won a wild game last night in what could be Drew Brees’ final Monday night game. The Chargers built a 20-3 lead, but the Black and Gold tied it in the fourth quarter and had to tie it again with less than a minute to play. Los Angeles could have won it in regulation, but Michael Badgley hit the up right on a 50-yard field goal try.

In overtime, Saints kicker Will Lutz booted a 36-yard field and the game ended when Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore tackled Michael Williams shy of the first down marker on fourth down. The Saints head into the bye week with a 3-2 record and Coach Sean Payton says they have time to clean up some mistakes…

So after five games, the Saints, Bucs and Panthers are tied for first in the NFC South. There’s another NFL game tonight as the Bills are at the Titans.

So how can LSU fix its woes on defense? Coach Ed Orgeron says the defense must be simplified. There’s been too much miscommunication that’s led to busted coverages and wide open receivers. In the Tigers two losses, they’ve given up 44 and 45 points and this Saturday they’ll be at 10th ranked Florida. The Gators lost last Saturday at Texas A-and-M 41-38. A lot of points are being scored in the SEC, but Coach Ed Orgeron says that’s not an excuse for his defense…

The SEC has its first postponed game because of COVID. Saturday’s game between Missouri and Vanderbilt has been postponed until December, because of an outbreak involving the Commodores.
