Good news for homeowners who took a beating from Laura and just got hammered by Delta: If you’ve already met your home insurance deductible you won’t have to pay it again. Matt Doyle has the story.

The LSU football team has a 1-2 record for the first time since 1994 after getting upset at Missouri in a game that featured very little defense. The Bayou Bengals gave up 586 yards of total offense as Mizzou pulled off the 45-41 upset. LSU fans are pointing the finger at new defensive coordinator Bo Pelini. Louisiana reported its first two fatalities as a result of Hurricane Delta Sunday.
Governor Edwards says an 86-year-old man in St. Martin Parish passed away from a fire that was sparked shortly after he attempted to refuel his generator. Generators were the single biggest individual cause of death post-Laura. Edwards says to make sure it doesn’t happen to you keep them 20 feet from your home.

The Senate Judiciary Committee begins hearings today on the nomination of Metairie native and Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the US Supreme Court. Louisiana Senator John Kennedy sits on the panel expects Democrats will obstruct and get personal.
Dems have also argued the proceedings should wait in light of the COVID super-spreading event in the Rose Garden that exposed dozens of prominent Republicans to the virus. Kennedy disagrees.
