The Big Ten has backed out of fall college sports and other conferences are reportedly in active conversations about doing the same today. The President is publicly calling for college conferences to push ahead with their seasons. No news yet out of the Sun Belt on what fall plans might be, and Cajuns coach Billy Napier says they’re just going to keep their head down and keep practicing until told otherwise.

Over the weekend the father of East Baton Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Tullier, the deputy who was severely injured in July of 2016 during a police ambush, made a surprise video announcement about his son. James Tullier had been living in Houston helping care for his son’s recovery and rehabilitation but now Nick’s current health allowed for the family to make the move back to Baton Rouge.

The state’s legislative auditor debunks the claims of duplicate COVID-19 cases inflating the state’s reported case count. Kevin Barnhart has the story.

The state is admittedly having issues with today’s case count saying that today’s laboratory reporting appears to be incomplete, potentially affecting case and test counts. Technical staff are investigating. The state reports 562 new COVID-19 cases today with 24 new fatalities. Hospitalizations … 1382, down one. Ventilator usage … 215, up by 5.
