A former tight end on LSU’s 2003 national championship team has been sentenced to five decades in prison for his involvement in a 2011 truck stop casino shooting in Port Allen. West Baton Rouge Parish Prosecutor Tony Clayton says 32-year-old Demetri Robinson walked into the casino in September 2011 after being banned from the establishment. Robinson pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted second degree murder and was sentenced to 50 years in jail.

A league source says the New Orleans Saints have restructured the contract of wide receiver Marques Colston, keeping him in Black & Gold for the 2015 season. No details of the restructuring are available, but it’s suspected the deal will reduce Colston’s salary cap obligation for the upcoming season.
