The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s office says a 14-year-old student from HL Bourgeois High is under arrest accused of threatening to blow up the school two times. They say administrators got an email this morning at 7:30am which said a bomb had been placed in the school and was going to go off during the day. The same thing happened last Tuesday. The emails were traced to the teen juvenile who was charged with two counts of false communication of a bomb threat.

Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon will be facing a newly announced challenger in this year’s re-election campaign. Matt Parker, a political newcomer who works in business in West Monroe owning a car repair business, announced his candidacy in an email to reporters Monday. Parker claims Donelon is taking campaign contributions from the insurance industry which could mean higher rates for customers.
