Slidell Police cops have arrested a Baton Rouge man after he threw his young daughter to the ground while fleeing officers during a shoplifting attempt. Detective Daniel Seuzeneau says officers responded to a call that 24-year-old Lamar Causey was stealing cologne and perfume from a cosmetics storeā€¦:

The little girl was transported to a local hospital for her injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. Causey faces many charges including theft of goods, cruelty to juveniles, possessing of drugs and resisting arrest.

A straw poll conducted at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference showed Governor Bobby Jindal finishing in 12th place among Republican presidential hopefuls. But UL-Lafayette Political Science Professor Pearson Cross doesn’t think that will keep Jinal from running for the White House…:

Jindal has not officially announced he’s running for President.

LSU and its former defensive coordinator John Chavis are in a legal battle. The two sides filed lawsuits against each other. The University claims Chavis owes $400,000 in buyout money but the now Texas A&M DC says he took the right steps when he left to avoid having to pay the buyout. Legal analyst Tim Meche says where the case will be heard, Texas or Louisiana, is going to be the biggest battle here…:

Meche believes this will be settled out of court because it’s not in the interest of either football program to have to go through a deposition.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office has released additional information about the shooting death of a gynecologist apparently had the hands of his wife during an argument. They say Dr. Wayne Breen and Kacie Breen had a history of domestic issues including physical violence committed by Mr. Breen. Detectives are working to determine if the shooting was justified but no charges are filed at this time.
