Many parishes in northwest Louisiana are under a winter storm warning until 9PM and several northeast Louisiana parishes are under a freezing rain advisory this morning. Several roads have been closed including portions of I-49 in Caddo Parish, I-220 in Caddo and Bossier, and several on and off ramps to I-20 in Ouachita Parish.

The city of Pineville is ecstatic over the news that American Specialty Alloys has announced they plan to build a $2.4 billion aluminum mill where the International Paper mill once operated. Pineville Mayor Clarence Fields says the project is expected to create nearly 15-hundred new jobs…

Fields says the average salary for those direct jobs is $70,000 and operations at the facility are expected to begin late next year.

State Police says a Jeanerette man is dead after an early morning single vehicle crash in Iberia Parish. They say 32-year-old Donald Williams, Jr. was traveling on Highway 674 when his vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a mailbox and a ditch embankment. Authorities say Williams was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The crash remains under investigation.
