Despite two losses last week, LSU remains ranked the A-P Top 25, but barely. The Tigers are 25th after road losses at Vanderbilt and Auburn. LSU entered the week in first place, two games ahead of Kentucky and Auburn, and now the Bayou Bengals find themselves in a three-way tie for first place with eight SEC games left. LSU hosts Missouri tomorrow night.

Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson says he’ll play tomorrow against Portland after missing Saturday’s win over Indiana with a left ankle sprain. All-Star forward Brandon Ingram also did not play because of a right ankle injury and he’ll be a game-time decision tomorrow night. The Trail Blazers are led by Damian Lillard, who is averaging close to 42 points a game in his last 10 contests. Tip-off in the Smoothie King Center is at 7 PM.

Tonight, Southern visits Jackson State, while Grambling hosts Alcorn State. Grambling ended Southern’s six-game winning streak on Saturday.

Opening day is Friday for the 11th ranked LSU baseball team who will begin the season by hosting Indiana in a weekend series. Coach Paul Mainieri says he’s hoping to see big seasons out of a group of sophomores…

Mainieri says sophomore right-hander Cole Henry will start opening day on Friday. He was 4-and-2 last season with a 3.39 ERA. Fellow sophomore right-hander Landon Marceaux will get the start on Saturday.

Lafayette native Mondo Duplantis has set a world record for the pole vault, as he cleared 20-feet and three-inches during a competition in Poland. Duplantis is a favorite to win the gold medal at the Olympic games in Toyko this summer. He will represent his mother’s home country of Sweden.
