Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson was listed as questionable for tonight’s game in Chicago against the Bulls. But Coach Alvin Gentry said today that his rookie will play and he will not be under a minutes restriction. New Orleans can use a win against a Bulls team that’s a season-worst 14 games under the five-hundred mark. Tip-off from the Windy City is at 7 PM.

Louisiana Tech will face Conference USA foe Western Kentucky at 8 PM in a game that will be televised on the C-B-S Sports Network. The Bulldogs are 8-and-2, tied for first place in the league, and riding a four-game winning streak. Western Kentucky was the preseason favorite to win the league and they re in third place in the standings with a 7-and-3 record.

LSU basketball is in first place in the SEC, but they lost last night to last place Vanderbilt 99-90. That snapped a 26-game losing streak for the Commodores. The Tigers have a big game this Saturday at Auburn.

LSU football signed three more players yesterday to give them 22 players in their 2020 recruiting class that’s ranked fourth nationally by 24-7 sports. The class features five defensive linemen as Coach Ed Orgeron says new defensive coordinator Bo Pelini is bringing back the four-three defense to Tiger Town. Orgeron on what he likes about Pelini….

Orgeron says the search continues for a new passing game coordinator to replace the departed Joe Brady. Coach O says he would like to hire another coach who’s currently with an NFL team.

Southland baseball coaches and sports information directors have picked Sam Houston State to repeat as conference champs. McNeese who won the conference tournament last year is picked to finish third. Southeastern Louisiana fourth, Northwestern State fifth, Nicholls eighth and UNO ninth.
