LSU Football signed three more players to its 2020 recruiting class that’s ranked as the fourth best nationally by 24-7 sports. They can still hand out three more scholarships to transfers or graduate transfers, so they’ll keep their eye on the NCAA Transfer portal.

Coach Ed Orgeron also needs to find a new passing game coordinator to replace Joe Brady, who came from the Saints. Coach O would like to get another NFL coach on his staff…

Orgeron also announced the Tigers are moving to a four-three front on defense with new defensive coordinator Bo Pelini.

Louisiana Tech has the highest-ranked class in Conference USA. The Ragin Cajuns have the top class in the Sun Belt, while ULM’s class is ranked last.

18th ranked LSU basketball had a 10-game winning streak heading into last night’s game at Vanderbilt. The Tigers also had 12 league games in a row on the road, while the Commodores had a 26-game SEC regular-season losing streak. All of those streaks ended as Vandy upset LSU 99-90. The Commodores shot 57-percent from the field, 40-percent from the three-point range. The 99 points are the most in the Will Wade era.

Northwestern State picked up a nice win at home last night as the Demons defeated Abilene Christian 73 to 69. Junior Chudier (Chew-dee) Bile led the way with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Elsewhere….Houston Baptist defeated Southeastern Louisiana 79 to 76, McNeese lost its second straight game as the Cowboys fell to Texas A-and-M Corpus Christi 69 to 62 and Nicholls fell to Stephen F Austin 70 to 64.

Tonight the Pelicans are at the Chicago Bulls. Rookie Zion Williamson is questionable with a sprained toe.
