The Pelicans three-game winning streak ended yesterday with a 117 to 109 loss at Houston. James Harden nearly had a triple-double for the Rockets and finished with 40 points. Rookie Zion Williamson had 21 points and 10 boards for the Pels, but Coach Alvin Gentry is unhappy he didn’t get the ball in the fourth quarter. New Orleans hosts Milwaukee tomorrow night.

Louisiana Tech men’s basketball is on a four-game winning streak and the Bulldogs have moved into a first-place tie with North Texas in Conference USA. The Dunkin Dogs have a big game Thursday as they visit Western Kentucky, who is in third place, one game back of the Bulldogs and the Mean Green.

New Orleans native and former LSU Tiger Tyrann Mathieu is a Super Bowl champion today as he helped Kansas City beat San Francisco 31-20. Mathieu had six tackles for K-C.
