The 22nd ranked LSU Basketball team won its ninth straight last night, a 90-76 win over Alabama. Emmit Williams had 23 points and 11 rebounds as the Tigers built a big first-half lead and never allowed the Crimson Tide to get back in the game. LSU is 7-0 in the SEC, one game ahead of Kentucky, who beat Vanderbilt last night. The Tigers host Ole Miss on Saturday.

In front of a record crowd at the H-and-HP Arena, McNeese defeated Nicholls 80-74 in overtime. That’s seven straight wins for the Cowboys, who are 7-and-3 in the Southland. Nicholls fell to 8-and-2 in league play.

Also in the Southland, last night, junior Chudier (Chew-dee) Bile had a game-high 20 points as Northwestern State beat UNO 82-74. The Demons are 5-and-5 in league play. Central Arkansas clobbered S-L-U 88-68.
Tulane lost its fourth straight a 68-52 defeat to South Florida.

The story involving the Saints and their involvement with the New Orleans Archdiocese’s sexual abuse crisis is not going away. The lawyers for one of the victims claim the Saints actively helped shape the list of credibly accused clergy. The Saints say their behind the scenes public relations work was minimal.

After winning two games on the road last week, Louisiana Tech men’s basketball is back home tonight to host Charlotte. Bulldogs coach Eric Konkol says with a bunch of home games coming up, he hopes Bulldog nation will support the Dunkin Dogs…
