The number one Tigers take on Oklahoma Saturday for the Peach Bowl. Coach Ed Orgeron says staying focused is going to be the key to victory in Atlanta.

Cut 10 (10) “…a great mindset.”

Saturday’s kickoff is scheduled for 3PM Central.

La. Tech dominates Miami en route to a 14-0 win in Shreveport for the Independence Bowl. The matchup between the 9-3 C-USA runner up Bulldogs and the 6-6 Power Five Hurricanes was a great cap to an inspiring season for the Ruston based team whose community is still recovering from a devastating tornado earlier this year. QB J’mar Smith tossed one TD and one pick along with 163 yards, while running back Justin Henderson stole the show with 95 yards rushing on 22 attempts. Defensively they kept Miami to under 50% competition, and two total picks, and nearly 3.0 yards a carry.

The Saints are preparing to take on the Carolina Panthers this Sunday knowing they do not control their playoff seeding fate. To secure the 1st seed the Saints will need a win, along with a Green Bay and San Francisco loss, although a loss by either the Packers or 9ers would give the team a bye-week and the 2nd seed assuming they can take down the feckless Panthers, who ditched longtime coach Ron Rivera weeks ago. Players to watch: Saints receiver Mike Thomas and Panthers running back Christian McCaffery, who are both in contention for offensive player of the year.

Have the Pelicans turned a corner? After a franchise-record losing streak ended nine days ago the team has gone 3-1 and is now only five games behind the 8th seed in the west. They take on Indiana tomorrow at 6.
