Despite suffering a hamstring injury in practice last week, LSU’s star running back and all SEC 1st teamer Clyde Edwards-Helaire is expected to play Saturday against Oklahoma in Atlanta for the Peach Bowl.

The Saints’ hopes of a first seed in the NFC playoffs are rapidly diminishing after Kirk Cousins and the Vikings choked away their Monday night game against the Packers 23-10. To secure home-field the Saints will now need a series of things to go right, starting with winning Sunday’s noon game against the 5-10 Panthers, who fired longtime coach Ron Rivera several weeks ago. The Packers will need to somehow lose to the 3-11-1 Lions, and the Seahawks will need to take down the 49ers in Seattle for the Black and Gold to sneak in. A loss by either the Packers or 49ers would open up the chance for the team to at least secure a bye-week as the number two seed if we can top the Panthers.

After a franchise-record losing streak ended with a win in Minnesota, the Pels have now won two of their last three games, bringing their total record on the year to a still highly disappointing 8-23. Despite those struggles, the team will still get a Christmas Day game today at 9:30 PM against the Nuggets.
