Governor John Bel Edwards joins more than 30 other Governors in announcing that they plan to still accept refugees despite a Trump Administration executive order that would allow states to opt out if they would prefer. An Edwards spokesperson says the decision was spurred on in part by the Louisiana Conference of Catholic Bishops, who appealed to the Governor to continue the policy. Edwards is Catholic.
