New Orleans Police made a quick arrest after a shooting last night during the Krewe of Muses parade along the Uptown parade route left one dead and one in critical condition. Officers reportedly heard multiple gunshots and once on the scene found the victims. A 21-year-old victim, shot in the chest, died while in surgery. The second victim is reportedly in critical condition with a wound to the neck. Police apprehended the suspect shortly after the incident. No names have been released at this time.
Despite last night’s incident, officials in New Orleans want people who are heading to The Big Easy for Mardi Gras over the next few days to know that the city is safe.
