A new Hepatitis C treatment agreement allows the Louisiana Department of Health to treat more Medicaid and Corrections patients in 75 days than in all of Fiscal Year 2019. Office of Public Health Assistant Secretary Dr. Alex Billioux says it’s resulted in 2,290 people getting treatment since July 15th.

Grambling State completes one of the institution’s largest fundraising campaigns, collecting more than $6.6 million over the course of three years. University Vice President of Advancement Marc Newman says the school saw a 150% increase in alumni participation with more than 5,700 gifts over the course of the campaign.
Newman says the money will support scholarships and the institution’s programs.
Senator Bill Cassidy introduces bipartisan legislation that will allow parents to receive a larger child tax credit in their year after they have a kid, or adopt. The legislation is a form of paid leave, and Cassidy says the additional 3,000 dollar tax credit will help parents when they need it most, in that expensive first year of child-rearing.
