The Saints and Falcons meet tonight in Atlanta. A win for New Orleans and they’ll clinch the N-F-C South. The Saints will not have two of their starting offensive linemen, Andrus Peat and Terron Armstead have been ruled out. Quarterback Drew Brees says they can’t use that as an excuse not to play well…

With Peat and Armstead out, that means veterans Nick Easton and Patrick Omameh will get the start. Kick-off is at 7:20.

Even though he was public enemy number one last night, Anthony Davis scored 41 points to lead his new team the Lakers to a 114 to 110 victory over his old team, the Pelicans. L-A outscored the Pels 35-21 in the fourth quarter. Jrue Holiday had 29 points for New Orleans, but just four in the second half. And the Pelicans had 20 turnovers as they suffered their third straight loss.

LSU football coach Ed Orgeron says you can expect a fully healthy Grant Delpit for Saturday night’s game against Texas A-and-M. Delpit didn’t play last Saturday against Arkansas because of a sore ankle.

It’s unclear who will start at quarterback for Louisiana Tech on Saturday when they host Texas-San Antonio. Starting quarterback J’Mar Smith has not started the last two games due to a suspension. Redshirt freshman quarterback Aaron Allen threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns in both of those games, which turned out to be losses.

There are several high school football teams practicing today as they get ready for either semi-final or quarterfinal games tomorrow. In Class Four-A, Carencro looks to reach the sem-finals for the first time since 2016 as they will visit Warren Easton.

In Five-A Tomorrow night, second-seeded West Monroe has to travel down to the River Parishes to face Destrehan. 11th seeded Haughton hosts 19th seeded Mandeville, 20th seeded Ruston hosts two-time defending champion, Zachary.
