Louisiana’s two billion dollar poultry industry gets a welcome bit of good news as China announces they’re lifting their US chicken import ban. China banned all US poultry imports in January 2015 after a bird flu outbreak in December 2014.  Ag Commissioner Mike Strain says in 2013, the US was selling about $500 million in poultry annually to China.

The port of New Orleans is one of the largest poultry exporters in America.

Many Tiger fans are hitting the road this weekend to support the top-ranked Bayou Bengals in their matchup with Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi. SEC Nation will be broadcasting from the town on the SEC television network.  In addition to getting fans hyped up over the game, Oxford Executive Director Kinney Ferris says visitors and viewers will also see the community is ready for Christmas.
