The Governor’s race is tied according to a new poll from JMC analytics. Pollster John Couvillon puts it at 45-45, and says his polling indicates most voters made up their mind about who to vote for a long time ago…

Couvillon says the race will be won and lost now not on persuasion, but on turnout, and both campaigns have pivoted to turnout as the rallying cry ahead of the Saturday election for Governor. Governor Edwards will be in New Orleans tonight with an all-star lineup of musicians like Trombone Shorty and Ivan Neville to encourage people to hit the polls. Republicans have leaned more on the state’s Congressional delegation to make the big push, members like Senator Bill Cassidy.

China lifts a ban on poultry imports from the United States.  In Louisiana, poultry is a $2 billion industry and the decision opens the market for Louisiana producers as the port of New Orleans is one of the largest poultry exporters in America.  Ag Commissioner Mike Strain says it is welcomed news.

Many Tiger fans are hitting the road this weekend to support the top-ranked Bayou Bengals in their matchup with Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi.   Visit Oxford Executive Director Kinney Ferris says the excitement in the town to host the fans is high after the Tigers tamed Bama last week.
