LSU football coach Ed Orgeron found himself earning praise on his radio show from a caller who identified himself as “John B. from Amite” … That caller was Governor John Bel Edwards. The Governor congratulated the coach for the big win over Alabama, expressed his pride in LSU, and commended Orgeron for representing the state well during his postgame interview.
Four new artificial reef sites are underway in Lake Borgne and the Mississippi Sound. Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries inshore reef biologist Ashley Ferguson says in total, 880 tons of limestone, 80 cubic yards of oyster shells, and 130 reef balls are being used for the sites.

Each of the sites is about ten acres, with one acre of material going into each area.
Attorney General Jeff Landry says police officers, firefighters, and other first responders are allowed to go to tonight’s Trump rally, despite concerns about the legality of state workers at political rallies. Landry says he got a call from Congressman Mike Johnson and Representative Alan Seabaugh and had his lawyers dig into the question. He says they found ample constitutional support for the decision.
