LSU football coach Ed Orgeron found himself earning praise on his radio show from a caller who identified himself as “John B. from Amite”  … That caller was Governor John Bel Edwards.  The Governor congratulated the coach for the big win over Alabama, expressed his pride in LSU, and commended Orgeron for representing the state well during his postgame interview.

A movie called “Christmas in Louisiana” showcases New Iberia to a national audience this Saturday night on the Lifetime Channel, but a public screening takes place tonight for locals.  Mayor Freddie Decourt says filmmakers were incentivized to film in the area because off city facilities to be used at no charge.  Plus many building owners also put up their properties at no charge.

The Legislative Auditor warns 18 towns, cities, and villages on this year’s list of Fiscally Distressed Municipalities are on the edge of budgetary disaster.  Director of Local Government Services Brad Cryer says bad fiscal management isn’t always the biggest culprit in these situations.
