That’s political analyst Bernie Pinsonat. Trump is set to speak from the Century Link Center in Bossier City at 7 PM. Governor Edwards has a campaign event today in Shreveport.

The Advisory Council on Heroin and Opioid Prevention and Education says there were 455 opioid-related deaths in 2018, an increase from the previous year. Council chair Dr. James Hussey says deaths continue to climb, despite Louisiana doctors writing fewer opioid prescriptions..

Hussey says an increase in overdose deaths can be attributed to an increase in illegal fentanyl.

The Legislative Auditor says 18 towns, cities, and villages are on the edge of a budgetary disaster. Director of Local Government Services Brad Cryer says unless these 18 locations change course, they could be headed for bankruptcy and state-run Fiscal Administration of their finances…..

Three of the locations have a budget deficit, four of them have Rural Water Infrastructure Concerns, and the rest are being monitored closely.

The premiere of the new Lifetime movie “Christmas in Louisiana” airs tonight at the Steamboat Pavillion in New Iberia. The movie was shot in New Iberia in August and September and Mayor Freddie Decourt says many of the locals were cast as extras and the film production stimulated the local economy…
