AG Jeff Landry issued an opinion allowing first responders and civil servants to attend the Presidential speaking engagement in Bossier City this week. This goes against the opinion of the state’s fire, police, and civil service state examiner Adrienne Bordelon, who said no firefighters or police could attend, as it could be perceived as supporting a particular candidate.
A telephone robo-poll of 660 likely voters finds the governor’s race a virtual tie with 49-percent of the respondents supporting Governor John Bel Edwards and 49-percent who say they plan to vote for Republican challenger Eddie Rispone. Bogalusa is now home to the 50 bed Woodlake Addiction Recovery Center, which may be able to help over 1,000 patients a year in one of the areas hardest hit by the opioid epidemic.
