An early morning complaint of a disorderly person at a Bossier City LaQuinta Inn results in the woman in question being shot twice by a police officer and dying from her injuries.  Bossier City PD says 45-year-old Shannon Rupert of Shreveport was waving around scissors while on the phone in the hotel’s lobby around 5:45 AM.  The officer gave multiple verbal commands to the woman to put down the scissors, but when she aggressively approached the officer with scissors still in hand, the officer fired shots striking the woman in the upper torso.  The woman died at LSU Ochsner Hospital.  The officer was not injured.
A Pineville man has been arrested and charged with 250 counts of online impersonation after allegedly posing as a woman on social media sites to solicit sexually explicit photos from women.  Kevin P. Miles was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center. State Police Master Trooper Scott Moreau says it’s highly illegal to use other people’s identity online, which is the basis for Miles’ charges.

South Louisiana and the Mississippi River Delta parishes are under a flash flood watch through Saturday afternoon as a Tropical Depression in the Gulf moves towards the Louisiana coast and collides with a cold front. The entire state will be impacted by rain today and National Weather Service Forecaster Phil Grigsby says some areas could see heavy downpours…

The man behind the wheel of a Dodge pickup truck that caused an August crash killing a mother and her 2-year-old in St. Landry Parish is now charged with two counts of negligent homicide.  Trooper Thomas Gossen says 48-year-old Michael Guidry crossed the center line, striking the victims’ vehicle during early morning hours.
