Louisiana leads the nation in the number of reported flu cases, while not even halfway into flu season.  Assistant Secretary for the state Office of Public Health Dr. Alex Billioux says the largest outbreak for activity is the Greater New Orleans area, but experts are not sure why the uptick is happening so early.

The Louisiana Department of Insurance is warning Louisiana car shoppers to be on the lookout for flood-damaged vehicles coming in from Texas.  Department of Insurance spokesperson John Tobler says if you believe you have bought a flood vehicle already, there are different agencies you should call as soon as possible.

Tolber says once the vehicle’s engine and electronics become waterflooded it’s almost impossible to correct the issues.

In Rapides Parish the 1989 cold case murder of two women uncovers new evidence. Earlier this month a tip led authorities to a pond on the property of former owner 71-year old Robert Blair. They found a car that his wife Isabelle Blair and her friend Marian Coutee were last seen in. Inside the vehicle, is evidence that is consistent with human remains.
