74-year-old Jim Donelon won a hard fought race to remain the state’s Insurance Commissioner. Donelon received 54-percent of the vote holding off GOP challenger Tim Temple after he poured nearly two million dollars into his own campaign. Donelon has been the insurance commissioner for 13 years and says his number one priority is to lower auto insurance rates. He blames a legal system that makes it too easy to sue….

The search continues for an unaccounted worker that’s trapped in the debris from the collapsed Hard Rock Hotel in New Orleans. The 18-story building was under construction when it fell apart Saturday morning. Two people are known dead and New Orleans Fire Chief Tim Mcconnell says they are still in rescue mode searching for a third worker.

A National Audubon Society report indicates 389 birds are in danger in North America due to climate change….
