Both parties made their final pitches to voters last night ahead of today’s primary. Republicans rallied in Lake Charles with President Trump, who implored GOP voters to toss the red state’s blue Governor out in order to send a message to national Democrats.

Attorney General Jeff Landry and Senators Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy opened the rally at a packed Sudduth Coliseum.

Governor Edwards countered Trump’s message, saying it’s not about red versus blue, it’s about continuing progress made over the last few years, together.

Polls open at 7am.

In addition to the governor’s race and other elections, the October 12th ballot has four proposed constitutional amendments. Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana Policy Director Steve Procopio advises voters to do their homework before they enter the voting booth…
