Three Saints players missed practice yesterday because of injuries, defensive end Trey Hendrickson, safety J-T Gray and of course Drew Brees. Brees says his injured thumb is getting better. He says he’s now able to brush his teeth, floss and pick up a glass of water in his right hand, something he couldn’t do a couple of days ago.

Saints Punter Thomas Morestead has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month. The veteran had 17 punts in September for an average of nearly 49 yards.

LSU Coach Ed Orgeron says outside linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson is looking better in practice and could play Saturday against Utah State. Chaisson has missed the last two games because of an ankle injury. He says the bye week allowed him to get healthier and the defense had a chance to work on some stuff

La Tech’s non-conference schedule for next season is set. The Bulldogs will visit UNLV and Vanderbilt and host Baylor and Prairie View A-and-M. In 2021, Tech will host Southeastern Louisiana and SMU and travel to Mississippi State and North Carolina State. The 2022 non-conference schedule features a road trip to Clemson.
