Green Bay fell from the ranks of the unbeaten last night as Doug Pederson and the Eagles flew into cheese land and defeated the Packers 34-27.

There are several big high school football games tonight. Two of the best teams in Class Four-A, St. Thomas More and Neville meet in Lafayette. Edna Karr travels to Baton Rouge to face the Catholic Bears. Undefeated Sterlington is at North Webster. West Monroe hosts Evangel. It’s the first time these two schools have played each other since the 2004 Class 5A championship game won by the Eagles.

No LSU football game on Saturday, but there will be a few college football games played in the state tomorrow. ULM hosts South Alabama in the Warhawks Sun Belt opener. McNeese hosts Sam Houston State and Northwestern State will look to break through the win column when they take on Southeastern Louisiana. The Lions are ranked 19th in one FCS Poll. Demons Coach Brad Laird says they have a playmaker on offense by the name of Devonte Williams and the defense is led by former McNeese Coach Lance Guidry…
