Legendary political reporter and New Orleans native Cokie Roberts has passed away at the age of 75. Roberts was named one of the 50 greatest women in broadcasting history, and in 2015 she spoke with Jim Engster about the ongoing struggle for women’s equality.
She passed away from complications resulting from breast cancer.

Tropical Depression 11 has formed off the coast of Texas and it’s expected to produce heavy rainfall in southwest Louisiana. National Weather Service Meteorologist Rob Megina says the tropical depression is not expected to intensify and the center of the system could hit the coast by the end of today
Megina says Houston and Galveston could see significant flooding.
Gasoline prices are on the rise following attacks on Saudi Arabian oil facilities by forces linked to the ongoing war in Yemen. AAA fuel analyst Don Redman says the attacks are significant for the global oil market.
The current statewide average for a gallon of regular gasoline is $2.22, about a nickel higher than last week. Redman says before the attack prices were trending towards two dollars a gallon.
